This morning I senselessly spent couple hours at Marriott’s Way near Costessey, on my favorite bridge, siting on my folding chair and trying catch any nice bird photo. I didn’t take anything!

My usual birding place
A little angry I came home and I started to look for information about best birding places in Norfolk.
Quickly I found that Norfolk is the one of the best places in the UK for taking birds photos!
I decided to choose Strumpshaw Fen near Brundall.
I had to pay entry fee £3.50 which was reasonable. I got a paper map, and a few instructions for the first time visitor.

Strumpshaw Fen reserve enterence
My first impression was not very good. Everywhere was quite quiet, no birds etc. The temperature was about 35C!
I found a small river. Over the water hundreds of dragonflies was flying. I wasted 30 min to try catch on my camera just one of them. It was impossible for me. They were to quick.
I found one hide opposite to almost completely dry lake (fen) witch no signs of life…
Bored and disappointed I decided to keep going and I found a second, nice tower hide. I entered and I realised I was just a one person inside.
