A few weeks ago Arleta and I decided to spend our holiday in Scotland. On Monday (26.08.2013) at 5 a.m. we started our trip to Scotland, using my replacement car – old Saab 900 🙂 My original car, also Saab, model 95 now is being fixed – turbo died and the guy who is fixing the car gave me a spare Saab.
Anyway, because of that quite long trip, we decided to have a nice brake on our way to Scotland. We chose Holy Island as the best place for the brake.
Holy Island is a very strange place located here:
The road to this island is just on the sea level and every day you can go to the island only inside of the small time windows. You always need to check the tide time tables before you trip, they are available on this website here:Â http://orawww.northumberland.gov.uk/www2/holyisland/holyisland.asp. Apparently at least one car every month sinks because o the driver stupidity – some people do not check tidy time tables:
We arrived to the Holy Island about 11:30, just after the time window opened for tourists. Well, we found a few unofficial car parks on the island, but we decided to support a little bit the local community and we parked the car here:
NIKON D600 (14mm, f/7.1, 1/1250 sec, ISO280)
We were warned about checking tidies:

The main attraction is a castle on the island’s hill, but it was not anything special, however still ok:
