Putting a pot of hot water into a freezer can damage the device. Also bad idea is chipping the ice. It also can cause a damage.
The quickest and full safe method is to turn a fun directing the airflow to the inside. It works! My freezer became free from the ice after 15 min and fully dry after another 5 min! Of course the food remains frozen, after 20 min you can put it back to the freezer 🙂
